Painting the car will not only help you in getting rid of any old patches or scratches but will also give the car a completely new avatar. Below are the tips for owners who are planning to paint their car at their home itself.
Preparation:-
1) For painting a car at home, you will need a number of items including wax/grease remover, primer, wire, body putty, spray gun, urethane-based paint, clear coat paint, water and spare clothes.
2) Wash you car properly before painting so that the possibility of slightest speck of dust o dirt can be removed.
3) Use grease/wax remover if there are any grease or wax spots on car’s exterior.
Process –
1) First of all smoothen out the car’s exterior by rubbing sand papers on rough patches.
2) There should be no static left on the car’s exterior so that it does not catch any more dust particles.
3) The parts, to which you don’t want to paint should be well covered with the help of masking tape.
4) Just before you start painting a car, wipe clean it with help of a soft cloth and dry the car’s body out, completely.
5) If there are patches on year car’s body, even those out with the help of body putty.
6) Now, evenly apply the primer throughout the surface of your car.
7) Now again its time to scrub the primer with the help of a send paper. Make sure that when you stop scrubbing, the outer surface of the car should be absolutely even.

1) First of all, (for body color) apply the urethane-based paint on the car’s body. Take help of the spray gun for the base coat.
2) Now wait for at least 15 minutes so that the base-coat dry-out completely.
